Mark Haydock

Mark trained for two years with artist Philip Markham and attended night classes at the Academy of Fine Arts as a teenager. After completing a business degree at New Zealand's Otago University, he went on to complete a Diploma in Graphic design at Kingston University in the UK. Following on from this Mark then worked for various in-house graphic design departments producing retail signage and graphic material for a host of clients.

Born in South Africa in 1963 and of Scottish and South African ancestry, Mark loved to paint and draw from an early age. Coming from a line of capable creatives, his father and grandfather were painters and his aunt a stained-glass artist. Emigrating to New Zealand in 1972 at the age of nine, Mark carried on his creative ventures across multiple artistic mediums.

Currently works predominantly with oil paint, chalk pastel, indian ink and charcoal.
